In the second quarter of 2022, the top 5 navigation and maps applications in South America displayed varied performance trends across downloads, active users, and revenue metrics. Here’s a detailed look at their performance.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a notable fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting strong with around 270K downloads in late March and peaking at approximately 315K in mid-April. By the end of June, downloads stabilized around 267K. The app maintained a large user base with weekly active users ranging between 8.4M and 9.1M throughout the quarter.

Google Maps Go exhibited a peak in weekly downloads mid-April at around 226K, before experiencing a decline to approximately 136K by mid-June. Active users for the app remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 11.1M and 11.7M during the quarter.

Google Earth showed a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at about 95K in late March and peaking at approximately 127K in early June. Active users also saw a gradual rise, moving from around 631K to 683K by mid-June.

Weekly revenue saw a peak of approximately $315 in mid-April, with a subsequent decline to around $159 by the end of the quarter. Active users mirrored this trend, decreasing from around 34K to 15K.
